Pretty Little Studio Blog Hop with Tombow USA!

Hi and Welcome to the Tombow USA and Pretty Little Studio Blog Hop! Get ready for two days of beautiful vintage inspiration! You probably came here from Daniella Hayes‘ blog, but if you happened to stumble across my blog go to the Tombow USA Blog.

I have made two projects for this blog hop using Pretty Little Studio’s Marigold collection and an assortment of Tombow adhesives!

My first project is a photo cube that I created using a wooden block, the Marigold collection from Pretty Little Studio, Tombow xtreme adhesive, Tombow stamp runner adhesive, and Tombow Mono and Aqua liquid glue. I started out by painting my wooden photo cube white with an acrylic paint. Then I created 6 very small layouts to place on my photo cube.  I used the stamp runner, mono and aqua liquid adhesive to place my photos and embellishments on each layout.  I used the Tombow xtreme adhesive to adhere the layouts to my photo cube. I love the Tombow xtreme adhesive! It has a very strong bond. The stamp runner is my new favorite adhesive for crafting! It works great!

My second project is a set of coasters I created using ceramic tiles, the Marigold collection from Pretty Little Studio, Tombow xtreme adhesive, Tombow stamp runner adhesive, mono liquid glue and aqua liquid glue, and modpodge.  I created 4 designs. One for each coaster. I used the stamp runner, mono and aqua liquid adhesives for each of the designs.  Then I used the xtreme adhesive to adhere each of the designs to the ceramic tiles.

Next, I painted a thin layer of modpodge over each design that was glued to the ceramic tile.  It is extremely important to paint a thin layer of modpodge and let it dry each time so that your design does not end up with bubbles in it.  I added several layers of modpodge to my coaster to give it a shine.

#Best Place Ever!

Hi everyone! Carole here to share a mixed media layout using the Marigold collection. We rented a cabin for spring break and spent three days resting and relaxing in the woods! It was so peaceful and we had the opportunity to see deer, gray squirrels, and eagles. My favorite part of the trip was sitting on the porch swing each morning sipping my coffee and enjoying the peace and quiet which is something I don’t get to do very often.

I had to incorporate some mixed media in my layout this time. I love to use texture paste, stencils, and my newest favorite medium; Gelatos. The colors of the Gelatos worked well with the colors of the marigold collection. I also used the cello packaging from the Marigold collection to add some color to the texture paste. I use the Gelatos to color on the cello packaging, spray a little water onto it and mix it on the cello with my finger. Then I take the cello with the ink and water mixture and rub it on the dried texture paste on my layout! I will share more information on the specifics another time. But I have to say, it is my favorite technique at the moment!
